Driving Innovation in Dentistry: Representing AI at the ISO TC106 60th Annual Meeting in New Orleans, USA, October 2024

I had the distinct privilege of participating as an expert  and technical committee member in Artificial Intelligence at the ISO TC106 60th Annual Meeting, held in the vibrant city of New Orleans last 12th-14th of October  2024.This annual gathering brings together global experts, innovators to shape the future of dental care through the development of international standards.

As part of the Artificial Intelligence committee, my role focused on contributing to discussions about the integration of AI into dentistry. From identifying dental implant components to optimizing patient care through advanced algorithms, AI is poised to revolutionize the field. At the meeting, I worked with fellow experts to explore how we can establish global standards that ensure both the safety and effectiveness of these technologies.

One of the key takeaways from the meeting was the importance of harmonizing AI-driven dental solutions with current standards while addressing the challenges of data security, interoperability, and scalability. This collaborative effort will pave the way for innovations that benefit dental professionals and patients alike.
